Meenvallam Waterfalls, Palakkad’s Hidden Gem

Tucked away in the lush forests of the Western Ghats, Meenvallam Waterfalls in Palakkad, Kerala, is a serene five-tiered cascade descending from approximately 45 meters into the Thuppanadu River. Originating from the Kalladikode Hills, the river eventually merges with the Thoothapuzha and subsequently joins the Bharathapuzha River .Surrounded by dense forests that are part of the Silent Valley National Park, the area is rich in biodiversity. The cascading waters, combined with the lush greenery, create a serene and picturesque environment, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and trekkers.

Situated approximately 30 km from Palakkad town and 77 km from Coimbatore, Meenvallam Waterfalls is nestled near Karimba village. Visitors can access the falls by taking a 1.5 km trek from the Meenvallam Hydroelectric Project on the Palakkad–Mannarkkad route. The waterfall descends from a height of 45 meters, creating a series of cascades that flow into clear, natural pools below .

Entry Fee: ₹20 per person .

Timings: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
