MIC Electronics bags ₹1.28 crore order from Palakkad Railway Division for Kannur station upgrades

MIC Electronics has recently secured a notable work order from the Palakkad Railway Divisional Office valued at Rs 1.28 crore. This contract involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an Integrated Passenger Information System (IPIS) at Kannur railway station. The initiative is part of broader infrastructure and passenger amenity upgrades under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Scope of Work: MIC Electronics will provide a complete IPIS solution at Kannur station. The project includes upgrading information display systems and is linked to broader improvements like platform upgrades, better circulating areas and parking, and new IRS-type platform shelters.

Contract Details:

• Total value: Rs 1,28,34,157.90

• Timeline: The project is to be executed within six months from the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance.

• Maintenance: The order includes a comprehensive annual maintenance contract (CAMC) for six years, ensuring continued service and reliability of the system.

Strategic Importance: The IPIS installation will enhance the passenger experience by providing real time electronic information about train arrivals, departures, and platform details crucial for a busy junction like Kannur, a significant station in the Palakkad Division.

Not a Related Party Transaction: The company clarified that there is no promoter, promoter group, or group company interest in the awarding entity, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.
