Palakkad Junction (PGT)

Formerly known as Olavakkode Junction, Palakkad Junction is the primary railway hub of the city. Situated approximately 4 km from the city center, it lies on the Jolarpettai–Shoranur line and serves as the terminating point for the Palakkad–Madurai rail line. Recognized as one of the cleanest railway stations in Kerala, it offers amenities such as five platforms, retiring rooms, refreshment stalls, and easy access to public transport.

Palakkad Town Railway Station (PGTN)

Located in the heart of the city near the Municipal Bus Stand, Palakkad Town station caters primarily to local and regional traffic. With four platforms, it provides facilities like waiting rooms, food stalls, and convenient connections to nearby destinations.

  • Shoranur Junction (SRR): The largest railway station in Kerala, serving as a major junction connecting the southwestern and southeastern coasts of India.
  • Ottappalam (OTP): A significant station on the Shoranur–Coimbatore route, facilitating passenger movement within the district.
  • Pattambi (PTB): Located on the Shoranur–Mangalore line, serving the western regions of Palakkad.
  • Kanjikode (KJKD): Serving the industrial town of Kanjikode, known for its industrial estates.
